What exactly is ‘Boxing Day’ anyway? Growing up in Canada, I always assumed it was a holiday everyone celebrated.
For those of you that don’t know, Boxing Day is a holiday that originated in Great Britain and is celebrated after Christmas Day. Though it originated as a holiday to give gifts to the poor, today Boxing Day is primarily known as a shopping holiday.
Whether or not you celebrate Boxing Day, what’s on your holiday playlist this week?
The team at Virtual Causeway put our heads together and have provided some of our favourite holiday song recommendations – we hope you get some joy out of them as well!
Kicking it off with fellow Canadians Barenaked Ladies (they must celebrate Boxing Day, too!)
The Waitresses – Christmas Wrapping
The Brian Setzer Orchestra – Nutcracker Suite
Elvis Presley – Blue Christmas
Christmas is Coming from Peanuts
Hall & Oates – Jingle Bell Rock
She & Him – Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree
The Beach Boys – Little Saint Nick
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts – Little Drummer Boy
And finishing off with some more observers of Boxing Day, Bob and Doug McKenzie’s take on Twelve Days of Christmas
From our B2B family to yours…
thanks for sticking around to read, listen, and share this year. You rock! I look forward to a fun, challenging, and super-successful 2023!
